Quite recently I was asked to do some S.E.O work for a site focusing solely on social emotional development.
And I was a bit stumped by the subject-matter. When I begin a project like this, I look around for other phrases, I digest the sites content, and generally get familiar with the subject-matter.
I am forty now, and this kind of thing just discussed when I was growing up (man, I sound so old), but I am so glad it is now. Growing up in Sheffield was pretty tough, and there were a lot of single parent families emerging from out of nowhere it would seem.
My parents were divorced when I was fourteen, and I am so happy that they did. Why should they be unhappy just to make mine and my sisters lives seemingly improved.
Hundreds of people tell me that they’ve stayed together for the sake of their kids, and this makes my head explode. What! Is your life done with? Is your happiness finished because you have a child with someone you no longer want to be with?
Kids are strong, and resilient, and can sense these things anyway, so why not discuss these things with them. You may get a pleasant surprise, or you may not, but one thing is for sure…if you don’t talk about it, you’ll never know.
Life in general is too short, procrastination is an incredible tool, and one that can suck life & time away from you without you even noticing. Don’t let it.
